2008.02.13 Pong in Wii mode

With a modified Twilight Princess Loader,
Pong can be loaded (in demo version) from SD Gecko or USB Gecko.

This is the first ELF file loaded from a SD Card into the GameCube memory card slot, and this is AWESOME
because means that homebrew can be loaded with the Twlight Hack.

It's just my old Pong demo written for GameCube a long time ago.
Controls doesn't work yet, and there are more to fix before a release, but at least things are moving forward.

Wii Backup disc 1.31 (could be a fake)

"There was been word of a wii disc called the "Wii backup disc 1.31". This disc was sent back with a repaired wii. Here is a screen shot of the disc and it's program. It is not available anywhere on the internet, so don't look. There is also rumors of a yellow disc which is of pal region."

Two new drive chipsets have been sighted and it looks like all new Wii models beginning with serial number LEH-161 are affected. Reportedly those chipsets (GC2-D1A and GC2-D1) are only compatible with the Argon modchip (Info: HERE) made by the Infectus Team and to some extent with D2CKey (not approved). There's still no official confirmation about the new chipsets and the modchip compatibility from D2CKey team.

Wii Brick Blocker

Rockman, un membro di "Wii Addict" forums, ha rilasciato Wii Brick Blocker. Si patcha a iso da masterizzare cosi da non avere problemi con gli aggiornamenti della regione non di provenienza..e quindi brick..

This patcher app will remove Wii updates from an ISO to prevent bricking your Wii. It has been tested on Paper Mario but apparently works with other titles as well.

YOU CAN BACKUP DOWNLOADED (PAYED) VC CHANNELS

on YOUR SD card and RE copy them on your Wii.

It’s not possible (gives error) if you try to copy on another Wii. Only Backup..

BUT

if you hex edit the famous NGxxxxxx number to the NGxxxxx one wich you find opening one of your wii channels something.bin with hexedit
then try to copy it gives you

A DIFFERENT ERROR!!!

so a part of the protection falls…
but only the part with root number( number of the downloaded game )and NG number (your wii number) are written in clear in the bin file…

the upper and bigges part is crypted and we can’t know how…

so..

maybe the only way is the comparison between f.zero PC downloaded and a BIG BIG BIG amount of f.zero backups…..

( instead buy yourself an Wii/GC action replay a SD gecko and a 1gigz microSD and enjoy all SNES games without MODCHIPing or PAYing)

So I really liked the MFE for GC homebrew... But its lacking in many ways.
My latest project is a new homebrew app that specificly plays DVDs. It's still bound to the GC-Linux (because we still can't load Wii homebrew), but has greatly been improved in playback quality and region support.
This new app is derived from the "proof of concept" that is MFE, but is all fresh code and loads media without the need of a FileSystem mount emmbedded on each media (eg. the DVD Drive FS mount that has to be included on all media MFE loads).

I'm still in development phase, but have tested a couple canidates with good results.

Support currently includes:
- 4.7G DVD Media (-r, +r, +rw, and of course "originals")
- Region Free
- Multi-Language Subtitle Support

The only real downside to this is that you have to load the DVD containing the app, then swap the DVD you want to watch when asked. It's going to stay that way untill we get true Wii homebrew support (and getting there is way beyond me)

Will post a Screenshot in a bit and will keep you all updated.

Proprio come il gia noto MOD di Erant col cavo saldato nel Wii..

Nulla di nuovo..si vede che il mercato è in crisi...
